Emma and Simon are quite different looking, despite their relations.
There are times, however, as Simon grows into himself, that we see some of their family traits come out. For example, Emma has white lines on her shoulder blades. We are now noticing that Simon has those lighter stripes coming in too.
John recently captured both of these photos of the dogs and I was struck by how similar they looked here.
They are both typical English labs, in addition to being cousins, so I think they will continue to look alike more as they grow older. There is one thing, though, developing that is all Simon on his little body. He has a white diamond-shaped patch of hair on his chest. I think we aren't supposed to like this - since it means his "fox red" color isn't all over - but I love this little marking.
